BIOMr. Brown was named as Executive Director of the Center for Excellence in Math and Science by the Rochester (NY) Area Colleges in February, 2007. He is responsible for program development and delivery to increase the quality and quantity of students successfully pursuing academic programs leading to careers in math, science and related technologies and the quality and quantity of teachers of math, science and related technologies.
Previously Mr. Brown was the Chief Administrative Officer and Senior VP, Eastman Kodak Company where he was responsible for the corporate staff functions as well as international regional operations.
He began his Kodak career as a process engineer in the Synthetic Chemicals Division in 1973 and served in various technical and supervisory capacities until 1982. Since then he held a broad range of management positions primarily in Kodak's manufacturing units ultimately being named as Kodak's Director of Global Manufacturing and Logistics and Senior VP in February, 1999.
A native of Waukegan, Illinois, he earned B.S. and M-Eng degrees in chemical engineering from Cornell University in 1972 and 1973; an M.B.A. from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1979; and an M.S. in management from MIT's Sloan School of Management in 1992. He is a member of the Cornell Society of Engineers, the Cornell University Council, the Rochester Institute of Technology Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of Unity Hospital.
